I may be perhaps forgiven the oversight of making this post on the actual day, November 21st, on account of the adjacent Thanksgiving holiday.
Anyway, last Wednesday was the 20th anniversary of my knighting by Seamus of the Cats and Karlanna, King & Queen of Ansteorra, on November 21st, 1987.
I hope I am no less worthy of the honor this day than I was that day, but could not swear to it.
About Galen of Bristol
Galen of Bristol joined the SCA in Meridies' Barony of Grey Niche (Memphis, TN) in May of 1979. He lived in Ansteorra's Barony of Bjornsborg (San Antonio, TX), before founding Drachenwald's Shire of Perilous Journey (West Berlin, Germany) in 1982. He ruled as the 8th Prince of Drachenwald in early 1984. He returned to Ansteorra in late 1985, living 8 years in the Barony of Bryn Gwlad (Austin, TX) and 9 years in in the Barony of Elfsea (Ft. Worth, TX), where he served as the 4th Baron of Elfsea. He also served as Seneschal of the Kingdom of Ansteorra, and autocratted Ansteorra's 20th Year Celebration. He holds the rank of herald extraordinary in the Ansteorran College of Heralds. He moved to the Shire of Ravenslake (Lake & McHenry Counties, IL) in the Midrealm's Region of the Midlands, in 2002.
He is privileged to be married to Baroness Allessandra Desiderio, and is the father of five children, Christopher (20), Robert (7), Mary (5), and John Paul (3) and Michael (born Dec. 2008).
